"Demo Review"

Multicultural outfit generate crafty, powerfully produced hard rock with pop sensibilities that smooth out the edges. They have a nicely packaged EP that reaches back to the 80's for inspiration for a clean, harmonic sheen that sometimes recalls uber-commericial bands like Loverboy. "Tomorrow/Today" demonstrates that the band can really play with catchy(sometimes overly familiar) tunes. Spankbaby are a polished unit whose "alt" name and image belies thier smooth sonics. - Music Connection Magazine

Bio

SPANKBABY was established when, in a rented rehearsal hall space in Hollywood, a multi-cultural group of young and musically gifted individuals began experimenting. What resulted was something that should have come as to no surprise, given that the diversity of their cultural background ranges from Japan to Los Angeles to New Orleans.

After the completion of their first EP "Eponymous", Spankbaby teamed up with director Ivan Corona of Singularity Pictures to shoot a video to the first single off the EP called "The One Thing". The video stars Chrishell Stause of ABCs All My Children and received high acclaim for it's strong message.

Spankbaby's highly anticipated second EP "Molt" was co produced by Brian Reeves (Billy Idol, Rooney etc.) and Spankbaby. The EP which was released at the end of 07' is keeping the band busy touring and promoting.

SPANKBABY was recently featured in a Japanese news paper as one of the best up and coming rock bands in Los Angeles.
