Lover. Fighter. Raw. Feisty.

SPANKIE is the physical manifestation of what pop / rock culture, editorial fashion, brazen performance art, and bold personality become when mashed together. As unique visually as she is musically, SPANKIE is driven with a rare passion for performance, captivating audiences with her elaborate and expressive creativity.

It’s not often these days a pop artist makes a name for herself the old fashioned way through paying dues, self-development, and self-promotion. SPANKIE has seen her fair share of hole-in-the-wall bar gigs, shady club owners, seedy industry personnel, and broken promises. She didn’t get her start through having famous parents, winning a reality contest, or being a feature on a pre-teen TV show. SPANKIE grew up in the suburbs of Los Angeles, a free spirited surfer girl, and got her start as a dancer and turned to playing guitar at age 16, before picking up the bass guitar shortly after. Now, at 22, SPANKIE is a completely self trained, home grown, grassroots artist who started out with a passion for entertaining others that has grown into a fully developed package, all by her own creation. From designing and building every piece of wardrobe she wears in her photo shoots, to being the exceptionally rare female artist who writes all her lyrics, plays most all of the instruments, produces, engineers, and edits her own music, she is a rising force to be reckoned with.

SPANKIE is an artist. And while her main art comes through her music, she is also a songwriter, print/runway model, accomplished musician on bass guitar, dancer, fashion designer, audio engineer, and film editor.

“My focus as an artist and a writer is to take the loved, the hated, and the absurd aspects of our pop culture and push them to their extremes, while keeping it honest,” says SPANKIE, who wrote all of her lyrics, all of her melodies, produced, and played all of the bass and the majority of the synths and sequencing on her upcoming EP.

“I feel like having that approach to art, rather than forcing opinions that simply don’t apply to everyone, is what makes my music relatable. I’m a very serious, yet tongue-in-cheek writer, and not everything I say is to be taken too literally. I want my listeners to be able to grasp the message, take it for their own, and mold it to fit their lifestyle. For people to be able to say, ‘Hey, I get this… and here’s my version of why…’ That’s what art is to me - expression that shifts and adapts to whoever is listening and watching.”

On the EP, SPANKIE emotes a sensual, gritty vocal approach both unique and feisty, while pumping relentless bass lines on the bass guitar, synth, keytar, and various percussion instruments. The combination creates a truly distinctive, electro-pop, rock, and face hitting dance sound that is catchy, edgy, humorous, and witty.

Take that sound to the stage and throw in a heavy dose of her all self-made high fashion couture wardrobes, her signature hair whipping moves with her all natural long curly locks (nicknamed “hair acrobatics” by a reviewer for RockSound Magazine), and her infectiously charismatic stage presence, and you’re sure to have a stellar, unforgettable experience.

“My greatest passion,” SPANKIE states, “is for performance. I give every ounce of energy, sweat, blood, and body to my fans. I believe in putting on a mind bending show, no matter what the venue. They deserve that. They deserve all of me.”

“But above all,” she adds “I want to see people dance! That’s beautiful.”
