"Got any Spare Change?"

When you attend an event like The Atlantis Music Conference & Festival, you never know exactly what you will find in terms of the performing acts that are presented in the various venues around the city of Atlanta. Some bands are good, and some not so good, but sometimes you find a band that simply shines like a newly cut diamond in a Tiffany’s showcase. Such a band performed last Saturday evening at The Hard Rock Café’s Velvet Underground. They are called “SPAREchange” and the power and magnetism of this band held the audience spellbound from the first note to the last.

Fronted by Chase Ewing, a beautiful and captivating female vocalist, this band connects instantly with its audience. Ms. Ewing’s clear, vibrant voice and highly visual stage presence combines with a group of extremely talented musicians in a style that bridges the melodic and powerful tones of rock music with just enough of the lyrical groove and modern sound of hip hop to create an enchanting, irresistible style that audiences immediately respond to.

With a wonderfully tasteful lead guitar style that entices listeners with his versatility and demands their attention with non-stop action, Will Martin works the guitar like a fine artist painting a colorful, awe-inspiring masterpiece. Martin successfully transitions between rhythm and lead and always seems to find the right combination of chords and riffs to bend the music into a perfect blend. Together with his brother Ben Martin, a rock solid, kick-butt, take no prisoners type of drummer, the group creates an engaging sound we found in no other band at the Festival. Completing the rhythm section is Reed Gott on bass guitar, who’s colorful, animated stage presence and accomplished playing style treats fans to a barrage of visual and auditory delights, mesmerizes its audience with a hypnotic performance that acts like glue to keep fans firmly engaged in the show.

Graceful and attractive backup singers J.J. Norman and Sabrina Burns, who’s incredible vocal harmonies not only put the icing on the cake, but become the setting in which this diamond rests, completes the circle of talent which makes the sound of SPAREchange an absolute phenomenon in its own right and producer, Q Kegler who is working on the bands stage show and recording schedule, expects the groups’ CD to do well on the independent charts.

Yes, you never know what you’re going to find at an event like this… but this reporter is delighted to have found a gem like this tucked neatly between major label acts and gets our vote as “Pick of the Show” at The Atlantis Music Conference & Festival. A rocket sitting on the launching pad of greatness waiting only for the right break to be sent blasting into the stratosphere of stardom, we believe SPAREchange has what music fans
are looking for and have been waiting for, and we know there are great things in store for them in the future.

One other thing, the average age of the members of SPAREchange is eighteen! We’ve heard many bands with potential, but this group has the makings of super-stardom, and we feel privileged to be able to bring them to your attention. "IT'S SEMI FINAL TIME IN THE ATL"

Well we start with our first night and write away I could smell the excitement. Bands like Sparechange came out and showed what they had and proved they could play with the big boys. It is always nice to start of the week with amazing talent such as we had. - Emergenza

"GRRRLfest at B.B. King's"

Friday's show at BB King's exceeded even our capacious imaginations - we were blown away by all of you! The audience stopped all of us at different times to thank us for the night. And the judges, whom singly and collectively have seen a lot of music, were really impressed by the level of talent.

We were so thrilled, too, with how nice you all were! Everyone was so up and happy to play - you made the night such a pleasure.

"Fan Testimonial"

Awesome! Just Awesome! I had a blast last night watching you perform. It is clear that you love what you do and it came through last night. As the Mom of your self-proclaimed "#1 Fan", I wanted to let you know how wonderful it is for my daughter to have such positive role models. I realize you do what you do because you love it, but you are also giving so much back to these kids who adore you. They are bombarded with negative in their young lives and your gift of example, discipline and work ethic delivered in the magic of having fun is more than a mom can ask.

Thank you to you all! I wish you continued success and hope that the path to pursue your dreams is always open and clear. Thanks, also, to wonderful people who support you. They too are setting some great examples for us "upper - generational" fans. Our children are our most precious gift. Their happiness and well-being is the goal for which we all strive. It is quite clear that you are loved. - Private
