SPEAKER CABINETS

 Barcelona, Catalonia, ESP
BandRockAlternative

Speaker Cabinets brings a psychotic show, with hurricane blasts of noise. Jimi Hendrix, Klaxons or Mando Diao are some of the ingredients of their explosive music. Their brief but intensive experience through Spain and Portugal makes them feel high on the scene, a guaranty of a great thrilling show

Biography

Speaker Cabinets were born in 2008 after longs efforts. We had a clear idea: We had to turn into real sounds all that stuff in our heads.

Our particular point of view of the Anglo-Saxon music is due to the influence of the city that has seen us grow up as band, Barcelona. In this European capital of the alternative art, Speaker Cabinets shows the true potential of the alternative local bands.

Our first step was to record our first (completely auto produced) songs that allowed us to get the earliest concerts. After that experience in the most important cities of Spain (such as Barcelona or Madrid) and Portugal, we decided to record an EP (2009).

Speaker Cabinet’s music became a kind of journey through the acid sound of the 60s & 70s, with clear influences such as Jimi Hendrix, with short stops to take a deep breath of fresh music like Klaxons or Mando Diao. That makes people dance and shout in our live performances, as we’ve seen in our brief but intensive experience through mythic locals of Spain, especially after our Ep release (completely free in our myspace). That makes us think that 2010 can be our great year.
