The Blue EP: Single "Tonight" has been played on local Portland radio 94.7 NRK, 88.1 The 'Burg located in Ellensburg, WA, and on several college radio staitions up and down the west coast.

Some things are meant to be. Take the origins of Speaker Rhodes, for example.
Three friends growing up in the small town of Corvallis, raised on gospel and country music, happen to meet a suburban teenager who at the time, had only been exposed to mainstream radio and yet together they discover a passion for rock n roll. Shortly thereafter, they formed Speaker Rhodes and realized that there is nothing they'd rather be doing with their lives than play music.
While each member brings a wide variety of influences to the table: from the Pixies, Modest Mouse, Springsteen, Cash, Iron and Wine and Elliot Smith to AC/DC, Smashing Pumpkins, and Guns N Roses ... the result of their own music is melodic at times, while solid drumming supports emotional vocals which are pinned against mean guitar riffage.
After years of practice and dedication, Speaker Rhodes is ready to take on the big city of Portland with aspirations to hear their first single "Tonight" on local radio while playing as many Portland shows as possible.
"We used to think of ourselves as being on the outskirts of the Portland scene," Vocalist Peter Ward comments. "Because with two of our members still liviing out of town, we weren't just like out in the scene all the time. But it's time now for us to have a real presence in Portland. We want everyone to know the name Speaker Rhodes."
