In Special Blendz you will find very talented musicians that have come together to make music that has a smooth and soulful sound and is layered in keys, strins and back beats that are lightly frosted over with sensual vocal harmonies. It's hard enough to find a four or five piece band where every member is extremely talented, but Special Blendz has nine such artists. From the very moment I turned this CD on in my player, I was treated to a slow groove musical massage. While most of the tracks on the CD are covers, they are covers that have been done extremely well! Special Blendz bills themselves as a showband and they know an amazing number of songs! The tracks that interested me most, however, are the originals. All three original songs on this CD are as deserving of readio play and recognition as any R&B that you will find on the airwaves today.

Their debut CD: "Something Special" has been receiving great reviews and three of the songs have been receiving radio play all over the world, as well as on the Internet. "Baby, Baby, Baby", "Try My Love" and "Comin' Back" all have been streamed as well.

Special Blendz has been together since 1993 and has entertained audiences up and down the East Coast of the US and as far West as Kansas City, MO. Their repertoire features great music from the 80's, Motown, Disco, Sounds of Philadelphia and Oldies. They are great for a dancing as well as listening crowd. Special Blendz lays down great dance beats and they are suitable for all ages. They put on the excellent show whether there are 50 or 50,000 attending. Special Blendz is available for concerts or private affairs and will travel anywhere, as long as the expenses are covered.
They currently rehearse two nights a week, in addition to working full time day jobs, while waiting for the opportunity to perform full time. These men love to perform! They will receive National distribution on a compilation disk being released in 2010, on SLR Records, featuring Vanessa Williams, Ann Nesby and Sounds of Blackness, among others.
Special Blendz is strongly influenced by all of the great vocal groups, especially The Temptations and The Whispers.
