Alexandra Rhoads

As an authentic rock band in a world of manufactured pop music, Spectra is a breath of fresh air whose time has come. Playing both original music and classic rock covers, Spectra's unique sound is sure to please fans of true rock and roll.

Alexandra Rhoads has been involved in music since the age of 7, and is originally trained in classical piano and violin. At the age of 14, she developed a love for the electric guitar and has been playing ever since. She studies classical guitar, piano and voice, and is currently studying to earn a degree in music composition. She has been performing most of her life and started playing in bands at the age of 16. She collaborated with Lauren Saunders in 2005 to create the band Spectra. They immediately began performing locally at festivals, parties, coffeehouses and the local Battle of the Bands. Alexandra writes all the original music for Spectra, as well as performing lead vocals, lead guitar and piano. She and Lauren work as partners in arranging the music and coordinating all the bands performances and rehearsals.
Lauren Saunders began singing in elementary school and is classically trained in voice. Her voice, which has been described as "note-perfect" adds strength and harmony to the band's overall sound.
Spectra is heavily influenced by many classic rock artists such as The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, The Eagles and Heart, among others. Spectra stands by its conviction to deliver quality music and keep rock and roll alive.
