The best kept secret in music

"Washington City Paper"

We are haunted by the spectre of SPECTRE. Particularly, the sounds from their CD, Violatus...Violare. Listening to "Awakening" we are certainly awakened—smashed in the head awake! But "Breach"offers a tender alternative. Well, no, not tender, but slower and hypnotically melodic. Ryan Hudson (guitar, vocals), Carl Raether (bass), Andy Dyer (guitar), and Chris Strong (drums) are proud to call themselves "one of the most professional unsigned rock bands on the East Coast" and that professionalism has paid off handsomely: Spectre has won a coveted spot on this year's Vans Warped Tour, and on Wednesday, July 30 [2003], the band will be rocking on the Ernie Ball Stage at Nissan Pavilion like nobody's business. Rock is their life. Welcome to it. - InDC editors

"Staff Pick"

Though largely overlooked, Washington, DC has spawned many of the most talented bands out there. Well, get ready for your next favorite band: DC’s own Spectre is gearing up to take the world by storm. In the coming months, the quartet is moving to Los Angeles in order to pursue their musical career even further. Although unsigned, this foursome has already accomplished more than most bands, with a successful nationwide tour under their belt and appearances at various music conferences, including a spot on the Warped Tour.

While primarily a hard rock band, Spectre’s music transcends genre, and all listeners are sure to find something they’ll like. Each member brings his own style into the mix, and the result is a perfect blend of rock, with metal influences as well as classic rock. Any one of the band’s songs could be a single. Moreover, their live show will blow you away, so make a point to see them when they come to a town near you.
