Spectrum Trio plays high-energy percussion and vocal-based original compositions that are based in the music of Africa and beyond. Tight vocal harmony with traditional rhythms and instruments of Africa, Cuba, and Brazil always leave audiences craving more.


Spectrum Trio is a percussion trio dedicated to performing a broad base of musical styles and creating new music utilizing percussion instruments, voice, and electronic sounds. We are rooted in performing traditional music from Cuba, Brazil, and West Africa, while also drawing from our classical, jazz, and funk backgrounds. Each member of the group contributes both to the creation of new music and arranging of traditional music for the trio. Spectrum Trio has performed at many venues for a variety of listeners - coming armed with fresh and exciting music to stimulate their audience! The group has also conducted lecture performances for students and educators - helping to ensure the future and proper education of young musicians and enthusiasts.
