"GIG - SPIES"

Hey, listen up – Spies are playing an impromptu free gig tonight at Whelans. I think you should go. Really. They were excellent at Pick For The Picnic last week. It’s being said that their live show is now so tightly-honed that they’re approaching the stage of becoming Ireland’s very own answer to The National.
Also on the bill are the PftP heat winners Tandem Felix along with Girl Band and We Arrive Alive. For free! Sheeeeeesh. Apparently there’s a very special guest due to join them. It won’t be Matt Berninger but it’s probably gonna be someone deadly. So rock down – doors are at 8, it’s free before 1030 but with that line-up, the earlier you’re there, the better.

Spies are a Dublin based five piece outfit, Determined to create music that connects to whoever listens to it . With their debut EP, Liars Call Me King, receiving regular air play from Phantom Fm, 2FM and Today FM DJ's including live sessions for Dan Hegarty and Paul Mcloone.
April saw the release of Spies latest single 'Barricade' at Whelans which received the Hot Press single of the fortnight along with the thumbs up from the Irish press and a Tower Records in store.
June saw Spies performing at the Forbidden Fruit Festival. The rest of the summer has been filled with live shows around the Dublin circuit along with plans for an Irish Tour and an EP.
