Spillway was nice enough to send me their new album, PAM LADN. I like it. They will surely get a lot of Modest Mouse comparisons with the guitar playing. And the lead singers voice sounds a lot like that one dude in Wolf Parade. Who also got compared to Modest Mouse at first. Mostly because Issac Brock produced their first album. But all comparisons aside you should listen to this band. I am not crazy about their name, but I think they could get big. - Crappy Indie Music
Spillway made their way to Seattle from Dallas via New York, and after a few listens it seems like they’ve finally found their proper musical home - their primal, utterly uninhibited vocals and wandering, guitar-centered melodies bring to mind Modest Mouse. They’re far too diverse to be pigeonholed, however, and all their songs are unique and richly-textured journeys unto themselves. - KEXP
I saw Spillway live not too long ago at The Josephine and they blew me away. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a band with more raw energy playing around Seattle. Singer Doug Barber’s quavering but concerted vocals and some of their guitar lines bring to mind Modest Mouse, but after listening to their recently-released album PAM LADN it seems they’ve carved out their own niche of primal indie rock to explore for themselves. - KEXP

Bio
KEXP described us best as "primal indie rock." While we take our music seriously, we do not believe it necessary to tug at the heartstrings so to speak. Topics include riding two horses at the same time, digging yourself a hole on the moon, and shaking hands with Neil Armstrong. Spillway is our effort to make music that is instrumentally engaging and keeps the listener guessing, coupled with a catchy melody one can sing along to.
