"A fantastic young band - lush layers of instruments and a singer to die for." - Quote from musician James Fagan

“Spinndrift presents an exciting range of instrumental and song material,
beautifully arranged and skilfully performed.
The band's integrity, intelligence and musicality shines through.” - Quote from Musician and Songwriter Sandra Kerr

“This is a highly entertaining and musically sophisticated band. It is
a pleasure to come across such a hugely accomplished group of
musicians who give as much consideration to their audience as they do
to their music: the songs and tunes are beautifully polished; the
presentation delightfully relaxed and assured.” - Quote from Musician Stewart Hardy

“Consisting of five talented instrumentalists and singers, the group performs modern folk based music that is interesting and exciting yet when necessary controlled and highly musical. They are particularly strong in their ability to combine instrumental and vocal textures in ways that hold the attention.” - Quote from musician and academic Vic Gammon

Spinndrift were brought together from different parts of the U.K. and the world (with their female vocalist from Hong Kong) in 2006 on the only Folk Degree course in England. Their different upbringings have meant the band is a fusion of all of their musical influences, with classical, breton, klezma, soul, morris dance and popular music all added to the mix, held together by a common love of the folk music of the British Isles. They have performed at folk festivals across England and have twice been finalists in the New Roots Competition. Their debut album is out June 2010.
