Bio

The band consists of four members. We've been friends since junior high, where three of us were in the percussion section of the Glen Rose High School band. I (Chris) was the best drummer, of course, but I "took one for the team" and started playing guitar and singing so that Shane, a fellow named Lloyd, and I could start a band. That band was called D.C. Rose. We played quite a bit during our high school days and recorded some fairly lame music (maybe a few of the originals were cool at the time). Eventually, that band went the way of the Dodo.

Later on, Lloyd, a guy named Sam, Benji (the current Spinning Jenny drummer), and I started a band called Neverthing. We came up with some pretty groovy tunes and played a few gigs over a couple of years (these were my long-hair, pre-realjob days). At some point, we got bored with it and the band was over.

After devoting a great deal of time to securing my future, I started writing music again. This was the period when Nobody Would Vote for Me and Dysfunction were written.

Later, Shane and I started playing again. We had an old friend named Anthony that was playing bass. Anthony moved to Minnesota, and we were screwed. So, Shane started playing bass, and we enlisted Benji to play drums. Then to our surprise, we found Kenny hiding under a rock after 17 years, thereby creating the current Spinning Jenny supergroup lineup.

Anyway, Spinning Jenny is really the ultimate original band (although we're the only ones that know it). Our musical style seemingly changes from song to song. If you don't think so, you should hear some of the new stuff. Some folks would say we haven't yet found our sound. I'd say that we have found our sound, it just takes a little more thought to see the pattern
