"Shame"

Very powerful dramatic song by Alan Begley. With a touch of Randy Newman and an almost psychic musical link into "What if McCartney kept writing for Bond", Begley presents us with a thought-provoking psychological piece of material that is a welcome change from the naive, the ignorant and the ordinary.

'Shame' jumps out at you like a culturally explosive, satirical expose on our aimless, greedy society... It's like taking a "shame"-fully awakening bus ride thru that poverty-driven and grafitti-littered "other" part of town that we know is there, but that we just keep turning our eyes and ears away from.

Interesting composition... A return of music with a disparaging social commentary... A work of Art!

- Magic Potion

Magnificent....your lyrics say it all...tripping over the truth in the name of material success and pointless wealth in a world where Paris Hilton is unfortunately not the name of a disease... A Lennon-esque masterpiece worthy of all the charts on this site...a classic, and we bought it so we can cover it..with Al's permission......isn't that where music is supposed to take us...higher? This track is the perfect kick off to a concept album...cool lyrics, great hook...the voice...your starter for ten!

SpiritRiders are a Dublin based 5 piece country rock band. Primarily a live act, our natural habitat would be pubs, clubs and outdoor festivals. We have no ambitions other than to be a great pub band and to earn a living. As well as our originals, our set contains songs by Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, Townes Van Zandt, Rodney Crowell, Guy Clark, J.J. Cale & John Prine.
History: formed in October 2008 the band has evolved through the usual personnel changes into the current steady line-up. All members are very experienced players with professional attitudes.
A constant series of gigs in Dublin and around Ireland has resulted in a tight sound and a continuous build-up of fans on our web-sites and at our gigs. Our recordings have received international radio airplay in the U.S, Canada, UK, Germany, Norway & Australia.
