Live review – Deutschland- support show.
Weiter ging es mit Spiritual Front, den mittlerweile schon fast zum Reisegepäck Kaschtes zählenden Italienern und ihrem Nihilistic Suicide Pop, der irgendwie immer wieder die Wortassoziation Mafia-Folk auslöst. Wenn es eine Band sitzender Weise und größten Teils mit Akustik-Instrumenten bestückt schafft, das Publikum zu begeistern und mitzureißen, zeugt dies von der wahrlich überlegenen Qualität ihrer atmosphärisch hochverdichteten Lieder. „Bastard Angel“, „I walk the Deadline“, “Love through Vaseline”, “No Kisses on the Mouth” oder “Slave” waren einfach wunderschön und man sah den vier Herren die Spielfreude geradezu an. Als sich Fronter Simone „Hellvis“ Salvatori zum Ende des letzten Songs hin dann auch noch schrammelnder Weise von seinem Stuhl zu Boden schmiss, war der letzte Beweis erbracht.
In dieser Musik steckt Herzblut. Um es mit Loki zu sagen: „Unheimlich tolle Geräusche!“

Spiritual Front have passed form being 'just another dark folk group' to an amazing band in which Simone's compositions shine with quality and originality. The are no longer simply dark folk: they are rock, pop, western, cabaret, noir film music with a touch of sensuality in every note. “Armageddon Gigolo” is on of the best records of 2006, every song gains a strange power that engulfs you in the chorus, the lyrics are spectacular and the orchestration - with the collaboration of Ennio Morricone's musicians- is sublime. There are songs for everyone: danceable rock with “Bastard Angel” or “Cruisin'', dark crooning with subtle melancholic synth notes in the excellent “I walk the (dead line)” or “Jesus Died in Las Vegas”, surrounding western guitar melodies with “The Shinning Circle” and “Ragged Bed”, traditional popular folk, and simple tune filled with honesty and peculiarity. With fervent ballads combining elements of "Mafia-folk", Ennio Morricone and Nick Cave - refined with a shot of Rock'n'Roll-Spirit, the Italian band Spiritual Front, along with their likeable singer Simone Salvatori have nestled cosily among different styles of music.
What once started as a mixture of acoustic pop and free-style folk has soon turned out to be a charismatic live act and is just about to astonish the music business with their highly exceptional vision of
'Suicide Pop'. Supported by the musicians of the Ennio Morricone Orchestra, the new album "Armageddon Gigolo“ skillfully combines Western and Ganster film atmospheres and the aura of great entertainers which melt into a genuine modern mixture.
The result is music for the anarchistic youth of the future, inspired by the spirit of the past. Vibrating guitar riffs, pointed piano chords, devoted strings and a subtle acoustic guitar support expressive English vocals. Spiritual front is music for anarchistic rebels - and machos with a tender heart.
