Splandit

Splandit is a band who’s trying to create a mixture sound between pop, punk, reggae, ska and easy listening for the first time in 2005.

The band was founded by singer/songwriter, ukulele player and guitarist Lexx and bassist O.B.S.T. We produced our first songs in the same year. Thereby we straight limited down our arrangement to acoustic instruments to play music if it’s no power socket available anywhere.

After a creative break for about one year, Lexx travelled to New Zeeland and Australia during a backpacking trip, the band still relocates in 2007. We meet spontaneous and recorded in a self made production the CD “one wasted weekend”.

Topics we handle with on this record are diversified. For example from dancing, party, summer, sun and fun, travel bug, ecological sense, politics, prejudices or problem solving to amorousness, heartsickness and aspiration.

The fun with music and life, irony upon seriousness of many songs stay in the foreground in our music.

Splandit is definitely a better live than studio band, because many of the charismatic aspects coming live much more better to the surface and give the music the certain something.

We record our new CD “follow the sun” in August 2008 and at this time the band is being supported by a Cajon (percussion box) played by Wallace. This instrument gives the sound of splandit a stronger character and a special “kick” and more movement to the crowd.
