Singer, Poet, Hip Hoper but also performer, SPLEEN, orginally from Paris, France is offering a very attractive mixture where Africa, soul music, movies, vocal beatboxing, gospel, poésie and hip hop works out together to produce a vocal funk, a contemporary loving blues.
SPLEEN ‘s album is an hymn to love in both sad and happy ways. He is 22 Years old and wrote 22 Tracks for his first album, singing in both French and english languages. That boy is coming out as a French Poet influenced by Afro American roots.
Whenever you would ask him who are his idols , he would dearly say James Brown, John Cassavettes, Fela Kuti or Cyrano de Bergerac. SPLEEN has multiple references, and this first opus comes from his collaboration with JEM, Parisian producer who did help him figure out how to realize the album out of so much creativity.

SPLEEN is also the foundator of “the Black and White Skins” collective, an music and art International association where young artists from the new American soul and folk scene as Devendra Banhart, Antony & the Johnsons and Cocorosie with whom SPLEEN himself plays officialy on stage in Sister Cassidy band. This young revelaton is also a theatre performer and he will assume Basquiat’s role in a Dan Jemmet Play in Paris during the 2006 season.

For a lot a medias in France, SPLEEN is the 2005 soul funk revelation.
