Bio
Some would think we are cursed...
In a matter of a year and a half we have gone through more things that most veteran bands. Bad blood with ex-members, record contracts gone wrong, cancelled tours and injuries that almost threatened the existence of the group. Splenetic gained their fans through their energetic live shows and adrenaline pumping metal. They played all through the Midwest with bands such as Bleed the Sky (Nuclear Blast Records), VAST (Elektra Records), Kill Franklyn and Trippin Default just to name a few. They have grazed the stage in clubs such as The Ranch Bowl (Omaha, NE), Transmission Gallery (Chicago, IL) and have headlined many shows in the area of their hometown of Sioux City, Iowa.
At the root, Splenetic is an old school metal group with new influences and styles of playing. Their music drives and their lyrics speak. Not many groups play with the speed and technical approach that Splenetic brings to the stage. Speedy and melodic guitar solos, jazz influenced and metal soaked drumming, thumping bass lines that push a groove over the top and aggressive vocals with a no holds bar attitude. Splenetic has been to hell and back and only time will show how much more damage they can inflict.
Their music is influenced by extreme metal groups of past and present such as Shadows Fall, Himsa, Slayer, Exodus, Lamb of God and many others. At the same time individual influences range from groups like Van Halen and Metallica to Nonpoint and Radiohead. Each member of Splenetic is different on their own, but together are focused on what matters to them, making music that engulfs the mind and body with brutal guitar and bass riffs and drums that beat the point into you.
Live the group is a ball of energy hell bent on fueling the fire and giving the best show they can. Each member has years of live experience which shows when they are on stage performing.
Future plans include the release of their 2nd EP in late May early June of 2005 followed by a west coast tour and fall east coast tour. The group is currently playing regionally while writing new material for the up coming EP and gearing up for a summer full of touring.
