Bio

Formed in 1992, Splintered Sunlight has been captivating audiences with their authentic tribute to The Grateful Dead for over fifteen years. The band has built a faithful following of deadheads and non-heads by using an approach that respects the improvisational traditions of The Dead, while exploring what can happen when individual band members bring their unique influences and interpretations into the mix.

They’re a band beyond description…

From their base in Philadelphia, PA, the band has become a permanent fixure on the Mid-Atlantic region's live music scene, playing rock clubs, theaters and summer festivals. Fans of all music get hooked by Splintered's stage energy and their diverse musical selections, including originals.

Here's what some of the people we've worked with have to say about their experience:

* "You guys have always been so generous, giving up your own money to help others! It was always great to work with Splintered Sunlight. "

Joe Rufo - Brownies 23 East, Ardmore, PA.

* The most fun I have as a club owner is when Splintered Sunlight plays at my venue. I look forward to each time they play here 'cause I know I'm going to have a great time. They pay great tribute to the Grateful Dead when they play."

Nothin’ left to do but smile, smile, smile…

Splintered Sunlight is approaching their third decade of live performance. That kind of staying comes from the family atmosphere that has developed among the band and their fan-base. Whether it's the heads that saw The Grateful Dead in their heyday, or today's young jamband fans, Splintered aims to satisfy both and deliver a genuine musical experience. The next time you see a Splintered show, we dare you not to smile!
