"Philly Metal At It's Best"

Splinterfuse is a relatively new Philly-based metal/hard rock band. The band cites many influences, including Killswitch Engage, Pantera, and Bullet For My Valentine. Vocals by Bill Weisel are angry and unforgiving; he sings songs as if the song has personally affronted him. Guitars by Danny Mac and Foley are much the same. This band does not make concessions to those who don’t appreciate brutal metal. The guitars and bass (by SJ) are heavily distorted and played rapidly over pounding drums the interestingly named PatRock. Guttural screams often pierce the wall of sound created by these instruments; Splinterfuse is not for the faint of heart.

Though they only played their first shows in the summer of 2006, Splinterfuse has already been making headway in the Philadelphia music scene. They have played many a local bar, and have also played The Trocadero and Grape Street in the past. Splinterfuse fills a void in the local music scene in that they play straight metal, not nu-metal or funk metal or whatever you’d like to call it. Though they do not have any recorded material for sale thus far, it surely won’t take long for Splinterfuse to hit the recording studio to lay down some brutality.

Bio

Our music is a blend of different music backgrounds. We all grew up listening to different bands which is what makes our music something different then a lot of stuff out there. We take influence from bands anywhere from Killswitch Engage to Tool to Dillinger Escape Plan to Incubus to Mudvayne to Dream Theater etc. We've played mainstage at Philadelphia's famous Trocadero Theater, as well as numerous shows at the local popular Grape Street including the "93.3 WMMR Thursday Night Rock Show" hosted by Jaxon of 93.3 WMMR, and this summer will be playing several outdoor festivals including Philadelphia Metalfest 2007 and the Cinco De Metal Festival. We're just a layed back group of guys that really work well together, love music, and don't mind working hard to get to where we want to be. Our live show is what we pride ourselves on most. We are always energetic, we try as hard as possible to make the fans feel more like a part of the show. At the end of our set we want everyone in the crowd to be just as tired as we are from giving it our all, and we want to make sure they had just as much fun as we did.
