Bio

Split for the City began around 2006 when Nicky Freeman (drums), Chris Freeman (guitar/vocals), and Nick Martinez (guitar/keyboard/vocals) met through a band program at the local East Coast Music Mall in Danbury, CT. As the band progressed, James Luccesi (bass) and Miriya Noel (vocals) were added to round out the lineup. After playing covers for a few years, the band began writing their own songs, inspired by a wide variety of influences, ranging from rock acts such as Fall Out Boy and The Killers to r'n'b singers such as Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, and Prince and hip-hops acts such as Jay-Z and Kanye West. What really makes Split for the City stand out is the fact that they are interested in both the popular rock/punk music scene, as well as the hip hop music scene. The band is trying to supply the bridge between both of them by getting involved with hip hop production, working with those of the genre, using hip hop influence in the band's music, while still staying original. As of right now, booking shows and getting their name out there is at the top of their priorities.
