Bio

After many failed attempts at creating a band with the right chemistry and sonic landscape, living the dream of this musical brotherhood to its fruition seemed unattainable……but in spite of the odds, four dedicated, aspiring artists from Kentucky & West Virginia assembled the right combination, trusted one another’s vision and collectively self-produced one of the best independent rock albums available today.

“Over my 30 years as President of one of the most reputable recording schools in the United States, I’ve never seen the equal of musicianship and talent possessed by this band – A best kept secret, about to explode.” Joe Waters – President of the “Recording Workshop” Chillocothe, OH.

Most listeners will tell you “This is a radio ready album that can be played from one to ten, without skipping around the disc.” Two of the bands best tunes have been featured on GarageBand.com and met with great review. Track #2 – Momma I Tried, landed at #17 out of several thousand songs listed on the site, and Track #3 – In My Head, was once featured as “Song of the Day” and posted on their home page for worldwide viewers.

Lately, the band has met several opportunities to open for national acts such as: Breaking Benjamin, Future Leaders Of The World, Soil, My Ruin, The Blank Theory, Ra, the Kiss Army, Bobaflex, Soundevice (Formerly StereoMud), Echo 7 and most recently, Shinedown, 7Mary3, Crossfade and Saliva always proving their right to be on the bill. The band’s latest accomplishments include endorsements by the custom guitar maker U.S. Masters, Taye Drums, Sabian symbols and guitar string maker Everly Music. A very coveted sponsorship by the world famous liquor giant Jagermeister and the recent acquisition of L.A. based management by “Ameritone Entertainment”, owned by former Hits Magazine music guru, Freddie Vasquez.

With six new tunes “in the can” Split Nixon is anticipating the release of a second album in the spring of 2005. In short, this band is a musical workhorse with a “get it done, whatever it takes” approach. Great songs, great individual attitudes and strong work ethics have brought Split Nixon to the top of the independent rock scene, and keeps them looking forward to a bright future in the music industry.
