Spook the Horse

Spook the Horse

Dark angular alternative rock with piano and synth. Say the Tindersticks on steroids falling down a long staircase.

Spook the Horse emerged in 2005 as one of Seattle’s most inspiring live bands. After a few demos and many stage appearances the band self-released their eponymous debut EP on December 20, 2005. With an in-studio live performance at KEXP on DJ John Richards' "John in the morning show," and a successful CD release party, press and fans alike were getting behind STH. 11 new songs have been recorded for a full-length release in early fall of 2007.

STH will be appearing on the next installment of Brendan Canty’s (Fugazi) DVD series, burn to shine (Seattle), which features a host of local bands put together by Ben Gibbard. Also, STH were selected as one of five winners of the Red Hook Brewery’s 2006 Emerging Artist award. Spook the horse has played with such bands as The Blakes, Kelly Stoltz, The Rosebuds, The Elected, Minus the Bear, Sirens Sister, Slender Means, Cobra High, The New Mexicans, Verona, and Aqueduct. The band is currently interested in shopping their 11 song debut full-length to independent labels.

The self-titled debut EP is out and on sale at amazon.com, cdbaby.com and at local record stores in Seattle. Full-length to come soon!
