Spooky Action Space Captain

Spooky Action Space Captain is a formation of science and math nerds who all ended up going to art school to learn about the crazy world of sound. The music is influenced by math-rock, grunge-rock, jazz, and heavy pop. It can be compared a blender full of Tera Melos, Foals, The Sea and Cake, WU LYF, Broken Social Scene, and Jack DeJohnette.
The four members of the band are from very different backgrounds, all coming from different parts of the world and playing different styles of music. Each style compliments the others very nicely and works to make sounds that are appealing to a surprising amount of people. After their first show, which was in a basement at a house party gig, they immediately got asked to play three more shows.
