Pack up more gear than you’d find in most professional studios, drive to a house on top of a mountain, set up and hit record. That’s how Springfield went about laying the foundations for their upcoming EP, ‘How It Is’. This kind of recording is exciting, tiring, unpredictable, frustrating, massively stimulating, spontaneous and altogether magic. And you can hear it in every track.
Springfield has taken the straight rock formula of guitars, vocals, bass and drums and added a few touches of their own. Big riffs, engaging melodies, driving drums. All through the haze of a mountain mist in summer...
Live experience in some of the top venues on the East Coast and an unwavering dedication to rock. Building support in the Sydney rock scene, Springfield has also played to appreciative crowds in Melbourne and along the East Coast. The 1st EP, :pure filler, saw radio play on FBi and subsequent shows draw rocking audiences. ‘How It Is’ is due for release nationally on September 15th 2007 through Green/MGM.
Springfield has played in such venues as The Annandale Hotel, Sydney, The Palace, Melbourne, The Roundhouse, Sydney, The Cambridge, Newcastle, The Public Bar, Melbourne as well as The Alley Bar and The Basement in Brisbane (as well as countless bars, clubs and venues across Sydney).
