Meet the Squareheads, Winnipeg's Premiere Rock 'N Roll institution for those in the know. A more dishevelled group of subnormal malcontents would be hard to come by, but don't be too hasty to judge. With little more than some overdriven amps and a case of Standard Lager, these four guys can really tear shit up. With influences from the Stooges to the Vibrators to Bon Scott and beyond, the Squareheads always deliver the goods.
Furious... this is the Squareheads sound. A shit-fuelled hurricane of distortion, broken glass, panties and astonishing riffs, it's like being smashed upside the head with a Gibson SG. The Squareheads make no apologies for being the Intercontinental Rock'N'Roll Heavyweight Champions of Manitoba, a title they've boasted since their formation in 200 BC. Being at the helm of the Winnipeg punk revival, they bear the heavy burden that comes with being Captain of the ship (the ship being Rock'N'Roll).
In fact, with the release of their debut LP "Persona Non Grata" this year on their own Eat 'Em Up Records, the Squareheads have achieved unprecedented success. Not surprisingly, "Persona Non Grata" went gold instantly in the Philippines. A sure sign of things to come.
