Ministry Statement:
“For that is what God meant humanity to be like; like players in one band, or organs in one body.”
C.S. Lewis “Mere Christianity”

They say that God works in mysterious ways. Take two suburban kid’s raised in the country outside of Atlanta, put them on two long winding paths going in the same direction, put into both a desire to seek God and a love of the hip hop art form and what do you get?

Emerging from the depths of the underground scene is the union of two of Atlanta’s most well respected talents, Squashy Nice and A-D. With a collective resume that reads like a story of unfulfilled promise, DJ and producer Squashy Nice and emcee A-D have joined forces after years of putting in work. Since 2000 A-D has been a member of the Atlanta hip hop super-group Minamina Goodsong. With childhood friends Pgnut , DJ T’challa and MC Twain, Minamina has carved a niche and garnered a colossal following within the Atlanta scene, releasing three albums, “Time for Breakfast” and “Snatch, Grab I Love You, "Transcendental Game of Zen," with a fourth album "The Four Farmer Circus" due to be released in 2005. Minamina is a part of the Plainzwalker crew which features Psyche Origami and the Kaleidoscope family, including My Cousin Troy, Captain Mudfish Starbolt, PH Balance and other renowned Atlanta artists. Squashy Nice established himself with a signature sound as producer and emcee with the group Scriblerus which included childhood friend Seth D. They released the 12” vinyl single “Safety” in the year 2000. Around the same time Squashy released the unacclaimed yet unbelievable instrumental project entitled “Dust Carpentry.” He also collaborated with Atlanta legend DJ T-Rock for the unreleased Rock and Squash project called “Getting Through.” He has produced beats for the likes of Mars ILL and Binkis Records and two of his solo songs have appeared on Night Owls compilations volumes 1 and 2. Squashy and A-D first got together in the summer of 2002, the product being the song “Closer,” which appears on “Complications,” a compilation album released by local Atlanta indie label Arc the Finger Records, and now available as a vinyl single.

Squashy Nice and A-D present “Team Player,” the obvious concept being that we each have a unique role designed for us. This rookie project showcases Squashy’s signature production sound providing the background for A-D’s story. “Team Player” blends two very distinct styles with the goal of paying homage to the hip hop art form and bringing hope to the ear of those who listen. Stay tuned….
