Bio

The most exciting up-and-coming band in Vancouver right now is without a doubt the Boom Booms. Their exuberant and soulful music is a blend of reggae, latin, folk, soul, funk, reggaeton, rock and more that is its own original life-force. It appeals to music lovers of all ages and tastes who come together at shows to get down, get touched, get sweaty, have an amazing time and feel the love with a band whos philosophy is one of evaporating the distinction between "performer" and "audience". Everybody leaving one of their shows feels at least a little more connected.
Frontman and primary song writer Aaron Nazruls story with music is a good introduction to why the vibe is right at the Boom Boom parties. He has played music since a young age, began writing his own material at 16, and after highschool his roamings found him fueling house parties, street fiestas & late night serenades from Montreal, Mexico and Cuba, to France and Spain, over to China and South-East Asia via motorbike and finally to the worlds largest Fringe Fest in Edinburgh, Scotland for the pre-release premiere of his debut album "Butterfly Man". His unshakeable & potent delivery is "passionate, intimate magic" whether singing in english, spanish, french or chinese.
The Boom Booms know how to rock a party and spark a fiesta. They are young, (with three members under 20 years old and none over 24) charismatic, they play with COLOR and you can tell how much FUN they have on stage. Besides all that they are an extremely talented group of musicians whos potential is just beginning to be tapped, having only been together for a few epic months. Most of the members also happen to be tree planters who seasonally spend time in the bush working to replenish the incredible natural environment of their home province of British Columbia.
After only one single summer together as a band Aaron Nazrul & the Boom Booms have generated a vibrant and loyal fan base in their home town. In this moment, they have chosen to foregoe industry advice to "slug it out" in ones own backyard, and instead ride their sun-wave of success straight out of East Vancouver in a custom '73 RV all the way to Brasil for Carnaval 2009. Imagine the possibilities...
Inside the RV they have a mobile studio for video and music recording and production from which they will be uploading material to the internet every week to keep their fans right there on the trip with them as their musical light grows. Also, the personal journals of the 7 members will be compiled and arranged into a story in book format upon their return to Canada.
Its a Boom Boom Nation, baby. Get on board and feel the love!
