Bio
Stable Daze, originally formed in April of two thousand five, is a combination of youth, ambition, knowledge, and experience. Although their ages range from twenty-three to thirty-five, they have great chemistry and remain close friends.
The two founding members of Stable Daze are Mike Staebell and Bruce Day, who met as fellow solo acoustic performers from Cedar Falls, IA. Both had played acoustic solo shows and once the two hooked up on stage, they have yet to look back. The addition of a drummer was needed after Bruce and Mike decided to enter their first battle of the bands.
Travis Mead, an old coworker of Staebell’s was the first to audition, and he would be the last. His tasteful, powerful, yet simple grooves add to Staebell and Day’s intricate fusion of soulful melody and awe-inspiring rock and roll.
Davis Michaelson, who is a master of many musical instruments, filled in the final missing piece on the bass guitar. A classical music composer, piano virtuoso, and guitar guru chose to leave other endeavors for Stable Daze. His basslines pull everything together, and create a sound which is unique, innovative, yet classically simple all at the same time.
Their original songs tell stories of lost love, self-improvement, self-doubt, and the moments we define our lives by. Day’s vocals and stage presence combine flawlessly with Staebell’s harmonies and lead guitar licks. Their three part harmonies, endless jams, and head bobbing cover tunes make Stable Daze an authentic, enjoyable, and satisfying rollercoaster ride of musicianship.
Opened for: Hello Dave, Josh Davis Band, Enchanted Ape, The New Congress, Mike Butterworth (of the Nadas), Oddball Protocal, Hooch, Bound2Be and Tim Mahoney
