Bio

It comes as no surprise to anyone that 22 year old Innisfil, Ontario country artist Stacey Jamieson would end up on the stage; it was obvious from an early age that performing on a stage was exactly where she belonged. Taking every opportunity to perform, Stacey participated in numerous talent shows, contests and festivals before deciding to pursue her career seriously in 2008. The past couple of years have been a whirlwind of activity and excitement for Stacey. Some of the highlights have included guest performing with country band ‘After Tuesday’ at the 2009 Barrie Earth Hour Music Festival along with Tal Bachman and David Usher, and being invited back to perform at the 2010 Barrie Earth Hour Music Festival as a solo act. She also won the 2009 KICX106 North of Nashville Star contest which gave her the opportunity to open for the Wilkinson’s at Barrie’s Kempenfest Waterfront Festival for an audience of thousands and opened the door to her being invited back as an opening act for Aaron Pritchett at the 2010 Kempenfest. She also opened for Jaydee Bixby and performed at the Barrie New Music Festival in September 2010. And what would a music career be without travel? Stacey’s attended the CCMA’ s in Vancouver 2009 and Edmonton 2010 and can’t wait to attend again this year in Hamilton. She’s also travelled to Nashville twice in the past year to record the tracks for her upcoming debut CD, and has met some amazing musicians and artists along the way. Stacey is also making a name for herself as a Host/MC, and has enjoyed playing this role at many charitable and non-profit functions in her community.

As a singer/songwriter Stacey’s always busy writing new material because you never know when inspiration’s going to hit, and she co-wrote 4 of the 12 songs on her debut album which is due for release in late 2011. Her songs range from hard hitting and rowdy tunes, to beautiful, heartbreaking ballads with artists Miranda Lambert and Jennifer Nettles being some of her greatest musical influences. Stacey loves to perform for an audience, and she’s the first to admit that “performing live is my favourite part of this career”. From the minute Stacey hits the stage her clear, powerful voice and captivating stage presence draws the crowd in making them part of the fun, and there’s no doubt in anyone’s mind that she’s having as much fun as they are. Having accomplished quite a bit in such a short time, Stacey is going ahead full throttle with her career and she’s excited about what she hopes is just the beginning of a long and successful career in the Canadian country music industry. With her talent and ambition, there’s no reason to think that her dreams won’t be realized.
