"STACK CD review"

NutZ & BoltZ:
Stack is a killer band. This recording is a great listen with lots of groove oriented twin guitar riffs and solos, heavy rhythm section, and scorchin’ vocals. The songs are well crafted. It’s easy to tell when a band just throws songs together to hurry up a project, but I feel that these songs were well thought out and pains were taken to get the groove on. I found myself bobbing my head as I listened, and to me, if you can’t feel the music, it isn’t worth hearing. My favorite tunes are All Right, Close Your Eyes, I Pray, and Nuthin’. This is a band that I would pay to see live, and any song on this CD would be a great live song. If you are into riff driven guitar rock, this is your band.

Most Memorable Moment:
I PRAY caught my ear. This song to me is the highlight and is ready for radio.

Quality of Recording: This cd was recorded at Thundershack in Nashville, TN. The sound quality of this CD is great. All the instruments blend well. It is crankable without distortion, which is always a plus.

Overall an 8. Definitely worth buying.

Bio

There is a place where all roads meet somewhere between Memphis and Nashville, TN. This place, known by locals as Crieve Hall, is home to the hard-hitting rock band STACK. If you cruise the streets there you might hear a low rumble; a train perhaps, but most likely the purr of a fine tuned machine called STACK.

The band was formed in early 2006, by a fateful jam session at their home base studio, Thundershack. The members of STACK, guitarist Bobby Watkins, guitarist Keith White, vocalist Garrison, bassist Steve Burgess, and drummer Tsquare (T2), came together resulting in a collaboration that bridges the gap between Classic-Hard Rock, and Modern-Alternative Rock. With influences ranging from Thin Lizzy, The Who, and Aerosmith to Jane’s Addiction, The Cure, and Clutch, STACK's sound is familiar yet unique in its own distinction. The band’s use of timeless guitar riffs and unique song crafting ability fused with an alternative edge has culminated in songs that resonate within the soul. The music is rich in guitar tones, intense grooves, and captivating melodic hooks with a dash of southern charm.

Throughout the 90's and until 2005, Bobby, T2, and Steve enjoyed success in The Screamin’ Cheetah Wheelies (SCW). These guys provided the unstoppable rhythmic force behind SCW’s hard-rocking funk and soul jams. With a string of major label releases on Atlantic Records and Capricorn, a barrage of radio airplay, and non-stop touring, "The Wheelies" were established as a well respected musical institution. Their music was featured on the popular HBO series, The Sopranos, as well as two major Hollywood movies and several TV shows.
North Carolina native Keith White creates sizzling guitar riffs and tasty melodic solos that cause you to move to the sonic pulse. Keith spent the 90's cutting his teeth in Christian Metal acts, Jesus Freaks and Subtrain, before forming Nashville’s foremost Metal band, Thousandfold, in 2002. Garrison, co-founding member of Thousandfold, local rock hero and Ohio native fronts the band with his inspiring lyrics and over the edge energy. On and off stage, Garrison is the nitro fuel behind this super charged powerhouse.
Brodie Hutcheson, technical guru and studio engineer (credits include: Gov’t Mule, The Black Crowes, and SCW), guided STACK through an eight month period of writing and recording at Thundershack. The self-titled debut album, "STACK", was released January 2007.
