Bio
Cadence is defined, in the American Heritage Dictionary, as a balanced, rhythmic flow, as of poetry. Stafsharif clasps this concept in one hand, while clutching a microphone in the other. Time and time again, the Philadelphia bred emcee invariably creates a fluid marriage of his unique flow and the music. Aptly conceptualized, the artists stage name is a bonding of his childhood nickname and legal last name. Often, Staf, would spend his elementary days writing rhymes on the corners of notebook pages, napkins and whatever else he could find. This devotion to the art form is also evidenced by the rappers vast knowledge of the subject. Seeming to have an insatiable thirst for the genre, Stafsharif claims that he eats and sleeps hip-hop.
Maintaining a varied taste in music has aided in strengthening not only his stage presence, but overall persona as well. Stafs range can be heard in his compositions. Lipstick on the Mirror, which is highly regarded by women, details of his trials with the fairer sex, while Come Clean is an ode to storytelling and lyricism. Besides performing with local hip-hop acts, Stafsharif has also performed alongside the likes of indie rock group Demander. From halls brimming with crazed teenage rockers, to quaint lounges flush with old school hip-hop faithfuls, Stafsharif has managed to hold his own on the mic. Philadelphias famed Trocadero Theater and Jacksonville, Floridas Seawalk Hotel are just a few of the venues that Stafsharif has graced with his lyrical prowess. A true man of renaissance, Stafsharif also hosts his own online radio show, entitled Stereotroniqs that can be heard on Sundays at 2pm ET at http://www.gtownradio.com. Currently, he is working on several projects including a yet to be titled solo debut, as well as the Electrik Blak collaboration with producer/emcee, Kush Shalimar.
