The band is 5 saxes, 4 trombones, 4 trumpets and an all-star rhythm section. The art form created by Walter Thompson called soundpainting is our present display of improvisation and performance art expression. We play the classic jazz and we also play hard driving neo soul pieces. The band is equipped with arrangers, educators and musical virtuosos. Stage Band South represents a diverse group of individuals that are serious about making great music. We were founded on March 9, 2011 and are already making strides within the city of Dallas. The band is very popular and has been sought out by many visiting artist for collaborations and pickup band situations. This band is beginning to be known as the DFW hit machine. Besides the free jazz and the sight-reading; this band is experienced in the world of recording. Stage Band South is lead by. Jason Davis.
