STAHLBERGER

2014

The new Album "Die Gschicht isch besser "(transl.: This story is better) was released on april 4th 2014, this time not only as a digital- and a CD-, but also as vinyl-album.

"Die Gschicht isch besser" is a collection of thirteen songs, dissecting the soul of swiss-german everyday life in a very subtle way and in all kinds of nuances. The music is radically simple but convincingly arranged. This third album of Stahlberger entered the Swiss album charts on position 6 in April and had a lot of enthusiastic press.

Stahlberger is:

Manuel Stahlberger - Voice, Guitar, Ukulele, Synths, Percussion

Marcel Gschwend: Bass, Synths

Christian Kesseli - Guitars, Synths, Piano, Bluesharp

Michael Gallusser: Guitars, Synths

Dominik Kesseli: Drum, Guitar

2013

During summertime the five bandmembers packed their instruments
and poems and in an intense and long week, they created the new songs in the Nidwalder Mountains. In Autumn/Winter the songs were recorded and mixed properly and autonomous at QFLM recording studio in Saint Gallen/CH under guidance of Michael Gallusser, the guitar player of the band in his own studio.

2011 - 2012

The second Album "Abhenkt" (transl.: uncoupled) was released
in March and the band toured successfully through Switzerland,
playing over 50 shows.

2010

During the last shows of the "Raegebogesiedlig"-tour (transl.:
rainbow settlement) new songs were already created and rehearsed.
After some intense weeks in springtime and a preproduction at
bunkerstudio QFLM in Saint Gallen/CH, the band recorded the new album "Abgenkt" with producer Olifr M. Guz, with whom they had already worked with for the first album "Raegebogesiedlig", at Startrek Studios Schaffhausen/CH.

The careful observation and sudden crisis of everyday life has always been the heart of Manuel Stahlberger's lyrics. Exact exterior- and interior-views of the swiss-german human being combined with open spheric or cheesy pop - but always reduced to the max -  arrangements of the band define the songs of "Abghenkt". The Band is on its way to pop music and is no longer only a cabaret-combo.

2009

2009 was an intense year with the release shows of "Raegebogesiedlig"- a wonderful tour through Switzerland. The band was completed by a fifth member on drums, the album was praised by the critics, the song "Klimawandel" (transl: climate change) became some sort of a summer-anthem and Manuel Stahlberger recieved the "Salzburger Stier" - a famous european cabaret-prize. What a year!

until 2008

On a warm summer night in 2004 somewhere near the Lake Constance, Manuel Stahlberger played a solo-show while another acoustic-pop band (St.Crisco) played there too. That's how Manuel met his Band - they decided to work together and so the band Stahlberger was founded, they toured together and became friends. After some tours together, they startetd working on an album together and released the debut "Raegebogesiedlig" end of 2008 with a big release-party in St.Gallen/CH.
