"Gimme The Rock"

-Something More Song Review-
The singer takes this tune to a higher level with a passionate and driven performance.

The tune itself is cool in that post grunge, kind of heavy with a pop element thrown in there way. They have an Uncle Kid Joe type of sound about them but with a bit more of a serious edge.

Guitars, Bass and Drums all put together a great performance and it translates really nicely on this track. The individuals arrangements flow nicely in the group context. What my preconception towards a pretty straight forward, albeit unorignal format, was dispelled at 2:27 when the music break aways leaving the drummer and singer out there alone. Like being in the eye of a hurricane, everything is calm and you're looking around knowing that those winds are going to come whipping back at you. Great section there and well thought out by the band.

The very last section, from about 3:14 to the end I felt was thrown in there because the drummer really wanted to put some double bass in this tune. It's a cool section but a possible radio version without it maybe worthwhile.

Rocking number all around.

Bio

“So much of music today is image-based, and we want to be message-based,” says lead singer, Jason Jaros. “We want everyone to be able to come and enjoy the music, no matter who you are.” That attitude has rang true with Stainless’ diverse group of fans.
Stainless’ music attracts listeners who are bored with the same played-out messages from the average rock song.
