"Stairs To Korea may well havbe produced one of the finest three minutes of music we’ve had committed to record this year"

William Vaughan who works under the name Stairs To Korea may well havbe produced one of the finest three minutes of music we’ve had committed to record this year, the half-Icelandic influence is clearly sweeping through his music as he shares many qualities with Scandinavian acts of recent years.

The best of them is the ability to twist and turn on Boy Bear It In Mind from one sound to another in a moment, it’s a song that constantlychanges throughout bringing in dropping off different instrumentation on route to it’s glorious close.

Despite his mixed up-bringing, vocally it’s a very English sounding record and mixed with a heavy dose of melody and upbeat lyrics to match the tune it’s a little ray of sunshine breaking out before the onset of winter.

The single is out now through Brainlove Records.

Bio

Stairs To Korea is Will Vaughan, a frighteningly talented half-Icelandic multi-instrumentalist who crafts skewed pop music using an array of effects, synthesisers and a dinky white guitar. Sugar-coated harmonies meet bended brass lines and intricate guitar motifs in his unique paens to growing up, going out and getting lost in the 21st century.

After spells ranging from being a teenage drummer in a touring hardcore band to turning up in countless London groups playing a trumpet, organ, drums or kronenberg can, to supporting the likes of The Magic Numbers and Noisettes and gracing the main stage of The Secret Garden Party, Will has spent 2009 gaining considerable acclaim in a short time for Stairs To Korea, bringing his one-man incarnation to the London circuit.
