Bio

Stake the Hero has been through several name changes and several members throughout the years they have been playing together. It started around Freshman year when Andrew Baker got his first guitar Tony Skinner, lead vocalist and bassist at the time, set out to find a drummer. When they found Ryan Stuart, the band was born. The first few years were really low key, playing mostly in their rooms or basements, and eventually graduating to playing worship for the youth group at their church. Early senior year, the band incorporated Dustin Baitinger to the crew as Rhythm guitar. After only a few short months of playing with the band, he stepped down. The band carried on as a three-piece until a mutal friend of the band Kyle Ziber, saw them play at a show at the Boys and Girls club in Antigo, WI (February 2008) and offered to play bass. Tony picked up rhythm guitar and the four-piece rock band then was first called "Stake the Hero". Around the end of May, Ben Guzik joined the band as rhythm guitar and played for most of the summer. The summer of 2008 the band really discovered themselves and wrote most of the songs they now play. At the end of August, guitarist Andrew Baker headed to Minneapolis to go to college for Recording Engineering, coming back almost every weekend to practice and/or play a show. Dropping out at the end of December, he rejoined the band in Rhinelander. Having all the members in the same city once again allowed the band to become really tight and continue to play more shows. At the end of March, 2009, Bassist Kyle Ziber announces his resignation as he is getting married end of July this year. The band is currently looking for a new bass player. Until they do find one, Skinner is filling on the bass.

Now that you've seen the history of the band, here's a little bit of the heart and passion of Stake the Hero. We all love our Savior, Jesus Christ with everything we have. We have a passion for music and desire to use that for Him. We use our lyrics to teach the message of Jesus and encourage those who hear them.
