Bio
‘Standard Fare’ are an up and coming three-piece indie-rock outfit based in Sheffield. Our songs have featured on Huw Stephens Radio 1 show multiple times and we’ve performed at his monthly gig at The Social in London. Other great gigs have included student festivals in Keele and York and regular appearances in Sheffield, Manchester, and York. We performed live on York Student TV and Radio and have been interviewed on High Peak local radio.
In 2008 we were signed to 'Thee Sheffield Phonographic Corporation' and have played one of their showcase gigs with other bands on the label. We recently recorded music with Thee SPC and are releasing a vinyl split single in the next month followed by another single and album over the coming year.
We’re good friends who try to make strong upbeat songs with quirky lyrics and an unusual twist. Emma and Dan have been writing songs since they were 15 and although they both work (Emma - PhD in Chemistry and Dan - Electrical Engineer) writing and performing is what they’re most passionate about. Andy (a Graphics Design student) brings much energy to the band and is interested in experimental drumming.
