Bio

Standard Models

Christine Long, Michelle Roberts, and Stacy Kindler are Standard Models, an indie act whose pop sound is rooted in folk, rock, and alt-country and which redefines songwriting with its unique style of composition and performance. Poignant and emotive, Standard Models offers songs to which listeners can relate and to which they will want to return again and again.

The trio believes in the power of music. According to these musicians, music lays open the heart and reveals the soul of a person. "Music makes us feel vulnerable and consumed. It gives us purpose and drive in our lives." This heart-on-sleeve philosophy of songwriting draws in the audience with its emotional honesty.

Part of the soul-exposing aspect of music is when an artist offers honest music to listeners. "Music has to be genuine and authentic. It has to speak some known truth – whether that means heartache or happiness." Standard Models do not shy away from the unhappy aspects of life. In fact, by embracing all angles of human existence, the group offers both joy and catharsis by way of their engaging music.

The group plays frequently, building up its fan base. Standard Models recently completed recording "We’re Trying To Get Famous," their sophomore CD, set for release in Winter 2008.
