Biography

It's not surprising in hearing Stella Rose (yes, that's her real name!) perform, to learn that she's from a musical family. Dad's a musician and Mom is a jazz singer and composer, so the music bug bit hard and early.

An education honed in performing arts schools and a stint at the Royal Conservatory of Music has helped develop her unique musical style. With a firm foothold in roots-rock and Canadiana music, Stella delivers a powerful performance of an eclectic collection of highly original, self-penned compositions.

Her journey into song-writing began at the tender age of eight with a little song that states that rabbits are better than hamsters which, she claims, she still remembers.

Fast forward to four years ago when a flood of new material was created, all without the benefit of owning a guitar. Fortunately, a guitar quickly emerged and being a fast learner, Stella soon mastered how to play, developing into a formidable performer and crowd pleaser. BBC Radio in the U.K. recently described her as a "wonderfully talented singer/songwriter."

Lyrics

A Way Home

Written By: Stella Rose

Verse 1
Broken dreams on what seemed to be like living easy street
Narrowing paths are hard to follow destination is hard to see
Through the pane window is foggy so levitate from planted feet
All up in smoke the cost of flying is nothing more than free now that

Verse2
The grass is greener on a different side down along the same street
Traffic has lifted up the avenue ear to the ground dig in deep
And what will you finda buried treasure only your hands open it
To lead you back to where you came from it's where your home is now that

Chorus
You're overcome in crowds you're standing alone so used to keeping your heart on a shelf
And staring up at the celing you just can't help the feeling that you'll figure it out for yourself

Repeating Bridge
You got a road you ran away from
You gotta know you got a way home
You got a load you carry weight on
So take a rest and put the load down
You got a bomb built in a warzone
Floatining around waiting to go off
You got a rope that you could hang from
It is a choice don't make the wrong one
You got a suitcase packed and ready to go
Still trying to make your way sometimes it's so slow
You got a road you ran away from
You gotta know you got a way home

Anomaly

Written By: Stella Rose

An anomaly yeah well you can't feel life standing within your reach

It is plain to see no but you can't hear right when you're half asleep

And nothing is for free yeah but you still feel like you've got what you need

And I'm down on my knees now to shed a teardrop for your liberty

An anomaly yeah

Waking in the streets now is it insanity with the warmest heart I've seen

Or a product of all the worlds calamity with piercing, pensive, pain

If I cut you you will bleed yeah 'cause I still feel like we are all the same

So walk on by and leave change you're so much better than a person with no name

Well stop wait a minute listen to my refrain 'cause it's a long night so come on out of the rain
when it's cold outside... are you cold inside?

Living like a freak yeah shun by society a place most have never seen

Getting through the day well who needs sobriety when no one is listening

It sure is nice to meet you and now we feel like there's something to gain

Connection with a hope and some understanding a little more humane

An anomaly yeah
Nothing is for free yeah whoa
An anomaly yeah
An anomaly yeah
