Bio
Born in Texas, Starks was raised in a drug and crime-infested neighborhood of North Waco. Starks began writing songs at the age of 10, which reflected his and other's life experiences. At the age of 16, Starks decided to join the military where he forced his mother to sign a consent form; allowing him to join the military at an early age to escape becoming another statistic in his environment. After completing his military service, Starks relocated in Dallas to pursue music as a career and inspire people with not just his lyrical ability but also his talent for telling stories you can picture. On January 1, 2014, Starks released his debut mixtape called, "SOAPBOX."
SOAPBOX is an exceptional mixtape which has garnered a lot of positive reviews since its release. On July 1, 2014, Starks released his first official music video and single "Fat Rhymes" directed by Jeff Adair; who has worked with rap artists such as Nipsey Hussle, Dorrough Music, Snow Tha Product, and also directed commercials for Regalia Vodka.
On July 4, 2014, Starks' debut single "Fat Rhymes" was premiered by Central Texas' #1 Hits and Hip Hop terrestrial radio station, HOT 104.9 FM. With a demographic of over 50,000 listeners per month, Starks single "Fat Rhymes" became contagious and heavily requested on the HOT 104.9 FM radio airwaves. Due to the profound success of Starks' record, HOT 104.9 FM partnered with Starks to give fans and listeners the chance to win a free PlayStation 4 in an exclusive contest called the, "Fat Rhymes Challenge." On September 24, 2014, Starks was featured on HOT 104.9 FM's segment "Waco's Very Own" and informed his smash hit "Fat Rhymes" was listed as the #5 Top Requested song.
