"Rockers set sights on the big time with EP launch..."

LOCAL band Star of 59 launched their new EP 'Welcome to the End' on Friday at the Severn View Club in Caldicot.
The three track EP was recorded at Stir Studios in Cardiff with Loz William, a well know music engineer who has worked with Ocean Colour Scene, The Manic's,Stuart Cable from Stereophonics and Asia.
Star of 59 were supported by other local bands. The Colour Sound Experiment and Elovate. The night proved very successful with the CD and other merchandise selling well and all bands got a good responce from the crowd. They played a storming 45 minute set. The crowd were going mad and were shouting for more so they came back on with two encores and played the likes of 'Going Back To London'.
Local Promoter Alison Beasley said "Star of 59 are back and better than ever. Loving the new tunes".

ABOUT STAR OF 59...

Fast preceding the rumblings of many of South Wales local talent Star of 59 have emerged as a prominent force in the live music scene in and around South Wales. Three years have seen the creation of three glorious EPs, causing a spark of critical acclaim from producers and DJs alike. The EPs have constantly sold out at gigs, and the boys most recent effort with Loz Williams at Stir Studio in Cardiff garnered much deserved airplay on Radio 1.

Gigs come far and wide, and since first stepping foot into London's vibrant gig life with a show at Camden's notorious Caernarvon Castle the boys havent looked back. Cardiff, London, Newport, Bristol, Bath and Swansea are just some of the places that have seen an invasion of sweeping melodies and all out rock. This bands style could make you reminisce with thoughts of 70s rock or Clash-esque style riffary, coated with potent lyrics and a more vibrant, contemporary feel.

Whatever your poison this band will surely have the cure.
