Bio
Jessica Star Rockers began writing music and poetry as a child growing up in the farmlands of Illinois. Her education and travels eventually led her to the rainy Pacific Northwest and the Puget Sound island she calls home. A mix of these two regions deeply informs her music, combining Midwest roots and folk with the indie rock sensibilities of Seattle and the Olympic Peninsula.
In 2010 Jessica began studying mandolin with national flatpicking champion Roger Ferguson, and the mandolin quickly became her primary instrument. She plays folk and old-time traditional standards, and her latest album combines these with several originals.
Jessica has played regionally as well as nationally, solo and with a variety of independent bands. Her ability to spontaneously harmonize makes her a highly sought-after session and performing artist.
