"Ryan K Takes Center Stage"

Ryan K.

Moe: What’s up Ryan? It’s such a pleasure to have you on deck. Where are you a native of?

Ryan K: Tracy, California.

Moe: How old are you?

Ryan K: 22

Moe: You are a one man phenomenon. You write and perform your own material. How long have you been doing this?

Ryan K: Ever since I started taking my music career seriously about a year ago.

Moe: Who are some of your musical influences?

Ryan K: Everything and anything. I even discovered some country songs that are pretty nice and I thought I could never like country! But to be more specific, if you were to look in my truck right now you would find the following CDs: N.E.R.D. Fly or Die, N.E.R.D. Seeing Sounds, Jamie Cullum Catching Tales, Slum Village Fantastic Volume II, Kanye West Late Registration, Daft Punk Alive, Jimi Hendrix Axis Bold As Love, Snoop Dogg Ego Trippin, Lil’ Wayne The Carter III.

Moe: Ryan, a lot of artists are into music for various reasons. What does music mean to you as an artist?

Ryan K: Music is the only good thing left in this world. It lets people be who they truly are in a creative environment. It’s also a way for people to connect to each other from different cultures. I could go on forever with this question!

Moe: Are you in the process of recording an album, or have you completed any previous projects?

Ryan K: I have completed two previous albums: Birth Rights and The Mismatch Kid.

Moe: As an independent artist, what is your dream deal right now?

Ryan K: My only dream deal would be to make sure that in any deal I get my best friend and producer, Ray Charles McCullough (Ra Charm Music), is able to go with me all the way to the top! There are certain people in my life that truly understand what I am trying to accomplish with this music thing, and Ray is one of them. He is the only person who understands what I want to do with each and every song without even saying a word.

Moe: At what point in your life did you realize that music is what you really wanted to do?

Ryan K: A year ago.

Moe: Are you a bit apprehensive that "others" will try to box you in and compare you to Justin Timberlake? Obviously, you have your own talent…how will you handle that type of stereotyping and prove that Ryan K. is a superstar in his own right?

Ryan K: I respect Justin Timberlake for everything he has done for the industry. I feel like being compared to Justin Timberlake is an honor. If people were to compare me to him that must mean I’m doing something right. When it comes to proving that I am a superstar in my own right, I think what people want is individuality, and I can assure you I am not lacking in that arena. There is so much more to me that people will soon discover.

Moe: A lot of your music is dance floor ready. The beats are hot, the hooks are hot, you sound fantastic…how do you decide what works for you on a track?

Ryan K: Oh that part is easy. I know when a track is hot if the words come to me without me even trying.

Moe: You definitely are ready to make appearances. Are you performing at venues, clubs or local events at this time?

Ryan K: Thank you for asking this question! I am ready to perform anywhere! If you know anyone looking please let me know!

Moe: You are currently an independent artist? Do you have a management team or are you currently looking for quality professional management and a label?

Ryan K: I am currently looking for both a management team and a label.

Moe: Are any of your songs currently available for purchase or download at this time? If so where, and if not…why not?

Ryan K: They are available for download. Just contact trust1985@gmail.com

Moe: Talk to me a little about your style. How would you describe your sound?

Ryan K: I like my sound to be clean, professional, and hard hitting. I want people to be singing my melodies after they listen.

Moe: What inspires you to keep creating such beautiful music?

Ryan K: Past relationships…and current ones.

Moe: As you know the industry is full of the good, bad and the ugly. Do you have any fears about the ascension to success?

Ryan K: Forgetting where I came from.

Moe: There are so many hopeful and budding artists that just want to seize that one opportunity to prove themselves. If you could give one peace of advice, what would that be?

Ryan K: First impressions are everything.

Moe: Ryan, this has been incredible. Any shout outs at all?

Ryan K: Just wanted to thank you for taking the time to interview me.

Moe: How can you be contacted for booking or for general inquiries?

Ryan K: www.myspace.com/iheartryank or 209-627-7101

Moe: Take care Ryan K. I will see you at the top.
