Bio
Starshifter is composed of three girls who write songs about the traumas of life (awkward childhood haircuts, high school food-service jobs, love). They have been writing and playing rock music together for over a year.
Their music is held down by Kinnie Moen’s punchy beats, Renata van Diest's catchy guitar riffs, and Michelleen Donato’s strong vocals and dark melodies. Their influences range from early 90's grunge bands (Silverchair, Soundgarden) to innovative singer-songwriters (Tori Amos, Bjork).
Come to a show and you might just be moved to tears (of laughter from Michelleen’s arsenal of off-color jokes). Or you might just be moved to bang your head around and throw your rock hand in the air.
