fake heroes

Fake Heroes

Verse

I’m dancing naked in the rain
I’m tossing things away in pain
And all the words we take for real,
they’re just the sum of all our fears

I’m fighting demons in my soul
I’m letting others run my world
And all of me you think you know
it’s just an act I put on show

Pre Chorus

Yet when the masks come off the face
they leave us shocked and out of place
It’s like a gift we can’t redeem
You never thought I had another self in me.

Chorus

And when we fight I’m torn inside to say please
start looking deeper in my soul than what you see
But then I see my portrait hanging on the wall
It’s not just you who have been lying to me and keeping distance all along

Verse

For is not so weird in our world,
to go on being someone you’re not
Just pretend you’re someone else
Do your best - to hide yourself

All fake heroes saving love
Jump of their thrones and make us laugh
With plastic swords and wooden minds,
all dreams were close and now are far behind

Pre Chorus

Yet, when they stage their fake fights
I stand backstage and clap my hands
For truth may be away a thousand miles,
but all they care about is how to act.

Chorus

And when they fight I’m torn inside to cut in
start hitting lies in the air with my speech
But then you say it’s not my place to judge them all
It’s not their fault that everyone I love is gone.

Bridge

Everyone I love…
it’s not their fault that all the time that passed is lost

A life could be mine

Written By: Dimitra Kamarinou

“A life could be mine”

Verse:

Sometimes, I think I own my life
how foolish can a person be, thinking life belongs to him
Sometimes, I think I live my life
Say all I kept inside so long,
let the real me guide my world.
Sometimes, the mystic auras drag my name
through changing eras to this day
And I wonder who has started it all
Who says our dreams last 15 secs - no more?

Verse:

Sometimes, I wish I was alive
Never meant to slide through broken walls
have a past a thousand years old.
Sometimes, I wish I could just be
while the world wouldn’t be so mean.
Stop sucking all those free souls still living in my soul
And let me breathe.

Chorus:
Sometimes my body’s longing for some warmth
My thoughts are restless and absurd
Sometimes there’s no one even to forgive
No space for glorious sins to win

Sometimes, a hint of feeling drops from my eyes
For all the lives that aren’t mine
I’m so jealous of them all
They get to smile and cry and love

Verse:

Sometimes, my inner wanderer takes the lead
How foolish can a shadow be, thinking light will let her exist
Sometimes, hope is crashed and truth’s revealed
Ghosts are the brave ones to proceed
to what humans will accept after five stages of grief.
Sometimes, the mystic auras drag their names
through changing eras to this day
and they’ll wonder who has started it all
who says that life is till we die – no more?

Verse:
Sometimes, I wish we found the peace we need
and not the one that’s there to ease
the troubled conscience of those who fear
that living, out of this world, is just not real.
Sometimes, I wish we could just be
while the world wouldn’t be so mean.
Stop sucking all those free souls still living in our soul
And let us breathe.

Chorus:
Sometimes my mind’s longing to be heard
My thoughts are restless and absurd
Sometimes there’s no one even to forget
No time to put my wanderer to bed

Sometimes, a hint of feeling drops from my eyes
For all the lives that won’t be mine
I’m so jealous of them all
They get to smile and cry and love

Bridge:
To any life I could have chosen to live
I want to say it’s all on me
No heart of will, no strength of staying I possessed
I would have breathed, if for the world I cared less
