STATE CHAMPS

Upstate New York's pop-rock scene has struck again with State Champs. This time hailing from the Albany area, 5 teenagers look to bring back the genre of Pop-Punk to a mainly Hardcore/Metal scene. The young friends share similar tastes in leisure activities ranging from no-name useless sports, to staying up late playing video games while violently verbally assulting each other. The positive, adventurous friendship built up between the 5 and their peers fuels their in-your-face, energetic live set. When it comes to writing music, each member brings a wide variety of ideas to the table to set the exact mood with the sounds they create. When combining influences like New Found Glory and Simple Plan, along with Every Time I Die and Trapped Under Ice, State Champs hopes to bring "simple" pop-punk to a new level with a melodic, edgy, feel-good kick added to it. All of this is, of course, will be attempted while making as many new friends as possible, making complete fools out of themselves, not having too much fun and overall staying completely positive.
