Biography

Hey everyone,

My name is Britton Roberts. I’m part of the Cleveland Ohio based rock band State Fair which includes bassist TJ Breslin, guitarist Jim Fenske, and drummer Seth Robinson.

We started out just getting together and playing some music without any real ambition to be a “band”. After a while I played some of my original material for the guys and we began to work on arrangements together. Some friends of ours heard what we were doing and encouraged us to share our music; after some consideration, State Fair was officially formed. A few shows and a studio E.P. later, we find ourselves in the fortunate position to make music, travel, and meet new people. While the music business is all about a bottom line, we are all about relationships first to each other and then to the friends of our music. So get away from the grind and the noise of the big city and meet us at the State Fair.

Making Up The Rules

Written By: State Fair

Making Up The Rules

Where do we go from here?
Where do we go from here?
We’re making up the rules x3

Where do we find our grace?
Could this be the time and place?
We’re making up the rules
We’re making up the rules
We’re making up the rules

I lost myself in someone x2

Where do we go from here?
Where do we go from here?
We’re making up the rules x3

I lost myself in someone x2
Have you lost yourself in someone? X2

I found myself in someone x2
Have you found yourself in someone? x2

Who We Are

Written By: State Fair

Who We Are

Here it all begins with a simple compromise
The chance for something good was in her eyes
If this is all there is; whatever makes you feel alright, alright
If this is what you want you can have it all

I swear we have no sense of what we’re doing
Of what we’re doing
I know we have no sense of who we are

I love you still though you may have given up
You’ve taken your chance but it’s not good enough

I swear we have no sense of what we’re doing
Of what we’re doing
I know we have no sense of who we are x2

I swear we have no sense of who we are

Not good enough, it’s not good enough x4

Always

Written By: State Fair

Always

I know you cross your fingers every time we’re about to kiss
I feel you’re full of sadness I can taste it on your lips
Do you think I’m gonna leave you? Do you think that I don’t care?
I found my life in the face framed in your hair

When you look into the mirror, do you see what I can see?
You’ve become my perfect image redefining beauty
Oh I wish that you could know it I want to break the spell you’ve put
On yourself and how you think you look

Always, don’t always have to look your best
Always, don’t always have to feel your best
There’s no one else here to impress
Always, don’t always have to feel

In your eyes I caught the reflection of a man that wasn’t me
He’s the person you believe in everything that I could be
Oh I hope that I don’t fail you I couldn’t bear the weight of it
It’s become so painful to admit

Cold, Cold Lie

Written By: State Fair

Cold, Cold Lie

I remember the day that you died
I was there by your side
I remember the day that you died
A cold, cold lie

If you say you need me that’s a lie
But I need you by my side
If you say you need me that’s a lie
A cold, cold lie

I need you here with me x3

I remember the day that you died a cold, cold lie
