Originally from fife, now resident in Edinburgh, SOA are possibly one of the most intense, honest young bands you’ll have heard for some time. They have operated with an archetypal 4-piece, guitar-driven set-up for some seven years, giving them a solid, perfectly realised sound which has pricked the ears of audiences and critics alike.
The fact the band have been friends since school, along with their decision last year to start living together makes SOA an exceptionally tight unit. Their closeness certainly shows; they are clearly comfortable playing together and their music has a special, intimate quality not often heard.
SOA’s refreshing sound, along with an impressively energetic and heartfelt live show, has led to widespread recognition, with the band receiving local and national radio play as well as a number of high-profile gigs, T IN THE PARK included. Awash In a sea of stylised bands SOA are the real thing.
