State of Grace

State of Grace delivers energetic live performances and pop/rock songs painted with colorful synthesizers. Discovered by the American music agency MusicDealers as one of the world top ten upcoming cool bands they are now shooting out their music to ears all around the world.

It all started in 2008 after lead singer Erik Ekblad and Hampus Johansson decided to form a band after travelling as street musicians in Scotland and Ireland for a while. After going home to their home village Heby, they hooked up with their childhood friends Johan Nelén with history in both rock and electronic music as well as Erik Johansson, a drummer with a certain feeling for simplicity and dynamics.

For 1.5 years they rehearsed without a single live performance. In 2010 though, State of Grace entered the stage for the first time and became opening acts for rock legends Status Quo and the debut album “Gospels in the wine” was released.

In 2011 State of Grace was announced as Swedens best unsigned live act by the Scandinavian news magazine Gaffa after winning “Livekarusellen”, the Swedish version of “Battle of Bands”. That was followed by a plenteous tour around Sweden as well as live performances in Germany and Finland.

State of Grace have shared stages with famous acts such as This is Head, Status Quo, Melody Club, Soundtrack of our lives, Brolle etc. In 2013 and 2014 State of Grace will be featured in the world wide Coca cola campaign 52 Places of Happiness with their song Gazebo. An international tour is to be expected in 2014.
